Representative Projects

This is a short list of some of the projects which John A. Wise has handled as a lawyer for his clients, but representative of the types of projects that he handles:

McCallum Glen Apartments

McCallum Glen Apartments

John Wise has handled millions of dollars in apartment closing and refinancing.  Pictured is McCallum Glen Apartments in Dallas.  Mr. Wise assisted the client in purchasing the project in 2001 (as part of a 1031 exchange), in refinancing it in 2006 with a conduit loan, and in selling it in 2013, and in a multitude of legal issues in between.

Lakefront Townhomes

Lake Front Townhomes

In 2006, Mr. Wise assisted his client in the purchase agreement and closing of a dilapidated marina on Cedar Creek Lake, south of Dallas.  The client removed the marina, platted lakefront lots, and built a lakefront project known as "Harbor Light Villas".  Mr. Wise wrote the construction contracts for the townhomes, assisted with loan documentation, and wrote the restrictive covenants and homeowners' association documents governing the townhomes.

Store Lease — Hair Fairies

Hair Fairies Storefront

In 2012, a real estate broker contacted Mr. Wise to assist his client, Hair Fairies, in a lease negotiation for a new store.  The lease space is in The Shops in Park Lane, Dallas, which is a multi-use project owned by a New York development company, and involved multiple restrictive covenants and "exclusives".  The lease was signed and the client has successfully opened the new store.

Home Builders

Pecan Farm

John Wise represents various homebuilders whose homes run the gamut from entry-level tract homes to multi-million dollar custom homes.  This industry is a natural for Mr. Wise, as he grew up with a father who built homes in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a mother who was an interior decorator.  Pictured is a custom-built home for which Mr. Wise wrote the construction contract.  He also established a limited liability company for the builder.

The Pecan Farm

Pecan Farm

In 2012, Mr. Wise helped clients from Mexico purchase a 500 acre pecan farm in Bastrop County, Texas.  The farm included extensive machinery, a pecan processing plant, and a nursery where trees are started and then sold to the public.  Mr. Wise also helped the clients establish a complex limited liability company for this business.
